Star Trek Online First Impressions

I know its an late reviwe but better late than never =P

ok, for the fans i have to say, the game is sorta complete, it have many of the races even if manny of the avaliable ones are not THAT important for the series.
The game is an alternative story between the series and the 2009 movie, where Spok  before reach the reality of the 2009 movie make a stop in an alternated reality where the war between the federation aliance started.
As World of Warcraft the game is splited in 2 factions, federation and klingon empire, each with their respective races and allies races as choices.
the craracters can evolve gaining experience and ranking in the federation or empire improving their skills and options. as lt. you receive your first "space cruiser" (this take only a few mins in game) but to get your second ship you need lt commander and thats requires at lest lvl 15, not so easy when you first start lol. so you can choose as your first job, between tactical (cruiser), engeneering or science vessel.
Keep in mind that cruisers have good phasers and sub weapons like phton or quantum torpedos or can even be equiped w/ disruptors beams but the strong point is the high HP, higher number of personel ( faster HP healing) and powerful shields, that makes it the best tankers. engeneering vessels have an useful HP and shield and really useful weapons capacity that allow single strong and area attacks. science vessels are basically for support and its really welcome in any battle.

theres a few screenshots of it.
unfortunatelly i played only during the close beta and for only a few days...
I have to confess, i really dont agree with the "pay to play" syetem but also the free to play w/ "cash shop" its not the way also... dunno if ill be able o find a game good enough that balance company greed w/ players needs w/o affect "in game" day by day needs.
atm im playing grand fantasia brought by aeria games but still it's not THE GAME...
