After post the first season of the anime i couldn't resist, specially because i'm a fan of the series and i love history.
The movie starts with a expedition to the place where the Yamato sank to honor the crew on the 60th anniversary.
Historical note
To who don't know, the battleship Yamato was real and it was the last japan's defense line during the WW II, sent in a suicidal mission to protect the country. The Yamato was once called the "floating mountain" and to sank it was needed nothing less than 9 torpedoes, heavy fire from the alliance fleet and many airplanes (even today that's a lot of damage).
After the Pearl Harbor, the alliance made a heavy attack over japan destroying all the japanese fleet heading to Okinawa.
Japan was the only nation of the world to receive atomic bombs attacks as everybody knows, but a real fact that only a few know is, the bombs was released after the conditional surrender.
Genre: Drama / War
Rate: I'm suspect to rate this one so i will leave it with a 7/10 because it show a version of the story that many don't know (all we see about WWII is the US version) also the effects are good.
